Wewak campus in dire straitsWewak campus in dire straits

THE University of PNG open campus facility in Wewak desperately needs financial support from the East Sepik provincial administration and the local East Sepik MPs.

The open campus hardly has any facility for students to further their studies.  There is a building consisting of four lecture rooms that is ready for use. However, the staff and students cannot use the facility because the university has not paid the builder. It is incomprehensible that UPNG is unable to pay for the facility due to financial constraints. The matter needs the urgent attention of the provincial administration, governor and MPs. UPNG should also pay fortnightly wages to the open campus tutors throughout the country.  Why is UPNG paying fortnightly wages only to tutors at main campus in Waigani? Other tutors in open campuses have the same knowledge and are doing the same jobs.
