What have we lost?

Letters

IT is sad that for a country with vast resources of oil, minerals, timber, fisheries and agriculture, we have regressed.
The economic downturn and cash-flow situation is already having an adverse effect on the country.
People have become too fed-up and feeling hopeless to talk about this now and are taking a ‘wait and see’ approach.
Local economic indicators are clear enough to support my assertion. We see chaos with university enrolments and fees, overcrowded
schools with underfunded resources, inadequate and inefficient drug supplies at hospitals, deteriorating Highlands highway, the high tax regime, declining job opportunities, declining business opportunities, etc. Who is to be blamed? The CEO of Papua New Guinea.
You cannot point fingers at previous governments.
Smart CEOs would know how to steer the ship with smart strategic planning in the short term, medium term and long term without damaging the economic foundation.
Smart CEOs would occasionally wear the shoes of a commoner to experience and understand the realities then come back and plan strategically.
Over to you, the O’Neill regime; you are entrusted to take care of God’s masterpiece and you are accountable to our Father.
May God’s kingdom come and may his will be done.
