Where are you governor?

Letters

After electing their political leaders in the 2017 national elections, people in various electorates and provinces throughout the country are depending on their leaders for improved services.
And just like everyone else, the people of Western are waiting patiently for their leaders to deliver those services.
After much political fanfare during his election victory, the province seems to have momentarily frozen in its development path as the member tries to acquaint himself of the political landscape.
Western is one of the least developed province in the country and a person who wins the Governor’s seat during the national elections should hit the ground running when elected into office.
While the lack of development in the province is a result of years of neglect by the authorities, the Governor would have shown some urgency in addressing a few development issues for a start in these remaining six months before this year comes to an end.
Nevertheless, it may be too premature to judge the Governor for now.
In the interim, he should start doing something tangible for the province now before he becomes lost in the political maze in Waigani.
