Where is our sense of respect?

Letters

WE are all Papua New Guineans, and a haus krai (house of mourning) in our traditional terms is a time for grieving for all and respect should be shown.
This was not the case for me when attending a brother’s haus krai in Gerehu stage 2 on Sunday (March 11) evening.
The neighbouring house had the music on full blast, with men laughing loudly and enjoying themselves.
Then gun shots were heard. Then eruptions of laughter from the men.
This was not one but four shots fired, much to their amusement.
I later found out that the house belonged to a politician and the son was the source of this commotion and this had been ongoing since Friday.
Come on son, show some respect for your father.
He is worth more than that.
