Where is smoking ban?

IT is frustrating when one does not smoke yet is helpless in public places with others smoking.
When will the health minister introduce the much-talked-about smoking ban in public areas and transport?
Looks like Jamie Maxtone-Graham was only preaching about impro­ving health status of the people when he publicly announced that smoking will be heavily regulated and the new law will come into effect in January 2012.
Can the good health minister and his relevant departments and authorities have this law take effect?
