Who is responsible for looking after teachers?

Letters

I AM a longtime resident of Gerehu Stage One and a parent of a student at Gerehu Primary School.
My letter relates to the eviction of teachers from the school as published in the media.
Who is responsible for teachers’ welfare and wellbeing in a school?
The people who are supposed to take responsibility have failed to their do their job, resulting in such inhuman actions taken on these hardworking professionals. I dispute the head teacher’s claim that a teacher occupying the ablution block forced 600 elementary children to share toilets with the primary school.
This ablution block was filled with all kinds of rubbish for more than 20 years and we never got close to that building at all.
This teacher cleaned the filthy mess and turned it into a better living area using his own resources.
Will this teacher be reimbursed?
It is very unfair on these teachers.
They are supposed to be housed in staff houses within the school premises.
I hope a workable solution is reached so it does not affect the teachers task of teaching and educating our children.
