MORE than 1,000 people from the Minimbi Mimki clan celebrated the first anniversary of the Molga Pikinini Association at Mogla in Dei district, Western Highlands, last Saturday.
The clansmen and women added colour to the event by dressing in traditional attire.
The association was formed to cater for school fees for elementary to university students.
Spokesman Simon Wai said with the national government’s free education policy, the association would try to cater for the projects fees.
“We are looking for means and ways to help our children get a better education and live a better life.
“What we are doing is to help others to form such associations and through it they can access better things.
“Celebrating this first anniversary for the association is a big moment for the members because what you have contributed to bring it this far has done a lot.”
Wai also urged other people who wished to help the association to make direct deposits to their bank account number 13986418 at ANZ, Mt Hagen branch.
