Why defend age-old Mama Lo?

WHY are we talking about defending our Constitution, when it was written before independence by a majority of white people and a few nationals?
The Papua New Gui­neans involved were not  highly educated and lacked information.
While there were political and social will, there was no economic will for PNG to be independent.
Therefore, we continue to depend on Australia, even until today.
As such, I cannot un­derstand the actions of our university students, especially those from UPNG.
 Can they not see the big picture?
