Why deny landowners?

Letters

THIS is in relation to what Commerce and Industry Minister Wera Mori said when we, the legitimate landowners, question him on our percentage in the Chuave limestone project.
Dear Minister, what you said about Chuave limestone land not being owned by the Mam and Duma clan does not go down well within your very own tribesmen.
How can someone we’ve mandated and look up to as our father say that to us?
If you think the land does not belong to us, then explain to us in a way in which we can understand.
All we know is that we are the rightful owners of the land.
If the Government of the day wants to do something, then we should be part and parcel of it.
We mandated you to look at our welfares and direct us if we go wrong, and not to make statemenst that do not go well with us.
