Why no end to stories of cop brutality?

AND so, police brutality rears its ugly head again, one in the nation’s capital and the other in Goroka.

We may not know of countless others that have occurred and unreported for fear of further reprisals by the officers.

The so-called arrest of The National’s circulation manager, Barry Bill, is not accordingly within the rule of law.

Detained without being charged, assaulted and having his personal belongings taken for no reason at all is not standard police procedure when making an arrest.

The bashing of several security guards in Goroka by alleged drunken officers need to be investigated thoroughly.

And to think these incidents happened two or three days after the burial of the two victims of the Hanuabada incident.

The buck should stop somewhere.

The top brass should be fuming about this and getting to the bottom of it.

Enough of “it takes time to do investigation”, but bring about swift and effective discipline measures.
