Why suspend class over fight?

Letters

LAST Friday, my child, who attends Gordon Secondary School, came home early after a fight broke out between a grade 12 male student and a teacher.
As a result of the fight, the principal suspended classes.
Why did the principal suspend the entire class?
Does the principal know that he has disrupted students’ learning?
This is an administrative issue where the principal could have easily dealt with the student and the teacher instead of suspending the entire class and telling the students to go home.
Can the education authorities investigate and find out why the school was suspended unnecessarily and putting students’ education at risk.
It is the school’s board and management’s responsibility to put in place strategies on how to deal with such situations.
