Why the fuss over Tufi flight?

IT is funny how Air Niugini starts a single flight to Tufi and the newspapers and the Government regard it the best thing that ever happened since men sliced bread.
Did PNG Air not operate there for over 10 years with Dash 8 aircraft and recently suspended operations?
I hope the authorities are fully aware of the regulations that were breached in this inaugural flight.
