A court has heard that a woman has forgiven her husband after he allegedly stabbed her on her buttocks.
Amos Kela from Western Highlands appeared at Waigani Committal Court, charged with causing grievous bodily harm to his wife, Jessica Munupo on May 27, at their 9-Mile residence in the National Capital District.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar told Kela to advise his wife to instruct the arresting officer to withdraw the case.
Police prosecutor Joseph Sangam told the court that the complainant requested that the matter should not continue in court.
The court was told that at around 7.30pm on May 27, at 9-Mile settlement Kela argued with his wife over allegations of him asking for a K1000.
After the argument, it is alleged that he got into his vehicle and wanted to drive away, but his wife got in as well.
They continued arguing when the wife allegedly kicked the windscreen of the vehicle and it shattered.
Kela got angry and stabbed his wife using a kitchen knife on her buttocks  which hospitalised her.
The matter will return to court on October 27 for review and Kela’s K500 bail was extended.
