THE Kroton Hela Wigmen have partnered with Axellerate Sports to be their official branding and merchandising agent this season.
Axellerate Sports is supporting the Wigmen through its brand of rugby league apparel, training gear, supplements and first aid supplies.
The announcement coincided with the Wigmen’s season launch. Wigmen chairman Andy Hetra said Axellerate Sports was a strong brand in the country.
Hetra said all Wigmen merchandise would be sold by Axellerate Sports.
“This is to give a chance for our fans to buy and proudly wear the Wigmen colours, so they can be part of Wigmen family,” Hetra said. Axellerate Sports managing director Anthony Toscano said his company was pleased to be involved with the Wigmen.
“The Wigmen management wanted to lift the standard of their apparel, training gear, diet and supplements, (so that’s why we’re on board),” Toscano said.
“It’s been a pleasure dealing with the players and the management as they‘ve embraced the professional approach that we have delivered for them.
“We’re excited about this partnership and looking forward to seeing the Wigmen become on of the Digicel Cup’s best sidies.
“Axellerate Sports has also embraced the Wigmen and it will be the first retailer in PNG to sell the official Wigmen sporting gear.”
Hetra said there would be official supporters’ singlets and t-shirts available for children and adults at Axellerate Sports.
He urged the public to visit the Axellerate Sports PNG Facebook page to stay posted on when the merchandise would be on sale.
Meanwhile, Hetra commended Kumul Petroleum Holdings under its subsidiary Kroton for being the Wigmen’s naming rights for the second year.
“We also have strong support from the provincial government on behalf of the Hela people as the gold sponsor, and Ipwenz Construction as the silver sponsor,” he said.
