THE Hela Wigmen have nothing to lose as they look to throw everything but the kitchen sink at the visiting Agmark Rabaul Gurias in round seven of the Digicel Cup at the Joe Keviame Oval in Mendi on Sunday.

Bringing the Gurias to Mendi is sure to draw a bumper crowd and the Wigmen despite not threatening the competition at this stage, will certainly give the visitors a feisty welcome

The Kemele construction-sponsored Wigmen with only a draw and a win so far, are taking this match seriously to determine their standing in the competition.

Wigmen chairman Andy Hetra yesterday said the challenge against the Gurias will certainly test their depth and quality.

“This will give coach Stanley Hondina an indication of where we stand as hit the midway into the second round,” Hetra added.

Hetra was however encouraged that they only had eight points scored against them. “A positive sign that our defence is working well,” he said.

The Wigmen will rely on veteran war-horse Joseph Omai, Michael Mapu, Jerry Tapara, Andrew Ipi, Samuel Sok and Albert Wakil to pepper the Gurias defences.

While Kewa Kili has a major challenge on his hands to handle the quality of Ase Boas and Dion Aiye.

However Gurias coach Michael Marum is likely to make adjustments and probably not start with his regular first choice line-up.

The opportunity to give other players more game time may fall in the hands of the fired up Wigmen, who are desperate for a win.
