THE Kroton Hela Wigmen board has warned teams and players taking part in its trials that they would not tolerate violence or ill-discipline at the Kone Tigers Oval today.
Chairman Andy Hetra said the club’s selectors would be taking note of any players who did not conform to their policy.
Hetra said that the club management would take particular not of players who had a history of bad behaviour and poor conduct and would be wary of picking them regardless of performance.
He said the Wigmen was a disciplined side that had performed well over the years.
The trial teams scheduled to play today are Tari Hela Igiris, Port Moresby based North West Igiris, North East Igiris, Pom South Igiris, Ira Lai 1 and 2.
Hetra said the club was pursuing a primary goal of developing players from Hela and added that his board wanted at least two thirds of the squad to be from Hela.
But the chairman added that they also wanted to have a competitive squad so they would also consider picking quality players in specific positions.
“We need players who are ready to play at the elite level and be successful and eventually make the Hunters squad,” Hetra said.
The Wigmen are expected to name their 25-man squad early next month.
