Will teachers get 13% rise?

Letters, Main Stories

ON Oct 23, at the launch of the Universal Basic Education plan at the PNG Education Institute, Education Minister James Marape commended teachers throughout the country for their hard work and time devoted to children.
While presenting a copy of the UBE plan to the teachers’ representative, Mr Marape said that “teachers will conclude this year with the final 13% of the agreed pay increase” to a huge round of applause.
The school year is nearing its conclusion.
The  teachers would like to know if what the Education Minister said was true.
Please clear the air, Mr Marape.
