Wingti commits to build schools

WESTERN Highlands Governor Paias Wingti has committed to building two new high schools for the people of Dei electorate, a school graduation has been
told.
Newly-appointed assistant secretary for education Stanley Maip said this during the Grade 10 and Grade 12 graduation of Kitip Lutheran Secondary School last
Thursday.
Maip said Wingti planned to build new schools at Kenembo and Nunga respectively and that Kitip Lutheran Secondary, the only secondary school in Dei electorate, would become a national high school for Grades 11 and 12.
Local MP, Wesley Nukundi gave K10,000 to the graduation committee to cover costs related to the ceremony.
Nukundi announced he had secured K1.7 million to fund school projects in the electorate, K500,000 of which was committed to Kitip Lutheran Secondary School.
School administrator, Robert Kauna thanked Wingti and Nukundi for making education their priority.
He said an educated population was truly a rewarding inheritance.
