SIBLINGS Toea and Kupun Wisil have predicted strong performances in athletics in front of the home crowd at the Pacific Games.

Sprint queen Toea is confident of winning gold medals again in the 100m and 200m races, plus the 4x100m and 4x400m relay events.

Her brother Kupun is looking forward to winning medals in the 100m and 4x100m relay events.

They flew into Port Moresby from Brisbane, Australia, with the rest of the PNG athletics team.

Toea, who recently clocked some very good times in the Australia competition, said she was in peak form and had the home crowd support as a bonus.

“I’m looking forward to the Games, especially running in front of my people. It’s our home ground.”

She had spent the past 10 years training in Australia, the past two preparing for the Pacific Games.

Kupun represented the country during the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia and the 2013 Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna.

He is looking forward to facing Fijian sprinter Banuve Tabakaucoro in the 100m and the 4x100m relay.

He clocked 10.59 seconds in the 100m at the Mini Games and hopes to do better on home soil

The Wisil siblings are the first to compete in the sprints at the Pacific Games.
