Joel Jim, a 7A PMV driver in Madang, said the poor road condition was one of the reasons behind PMVs not making enough money, which meant drivers had their pay cut. He said poor roads meant they couldn’t do as many rounds as they would risk damaging the vehicles. Jim said road conditions in the town were so bad that vehicles needed servicing regularly and that was also costly.
