Stray pigs scavenging among piles of rubbish is a normal sight everyday at the Goroka main market and neighbouring betel nut markets at Suave and Kakaruk.
Gahuku rural local level government and Goroka urban local level government (GULLG) have made some attempts to address this but to no avail.
GULLG manager Hasrold Abori expressed relief this week after that police would shoot stray pigs found in public places in Goroka.
