It didn’t take long for the authorities to act and the container which once blocked the footpath at Tane-Tane Street in Boroko, Port Moresby, is gone.
School children can once again safely walk home without having to risk their lives on a road busy with morning and afternoon traffic.
Eyewitness will be keeping an eye to make sure the container doesn’t reappear.
However, on Kaubebe Street, at the Boroko Drive junction, the overgrown bougainvillea that we brought to the authority’s attention is still there and its sharp thorns continue to threaten to shred the head of anyone who dares to crawl under it.
Trimming it back and cleaning the mess won’t require much work.
