Workmen from Nivani loading rubbish into a truck as more than 30 businesshouses in East New Britain take to the streets to clean Kokopo and Rabaul on Saturday.
The cleanup project was an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and took businessowners, managers, employees and their spouses to the streets to collect rubbish, clear blocked drains and cut the grass.
The project has been running for six months as East New Britain promote itself as a tourism destination.
The companies involved in the project include big names like Bank South Pacific, Agmark, Nivani, AES Timbers, 3A Composites, Rabaul Tours, Pacific Industries, Manolos Aviation, Kokopo Village Resort and Kokopo Beach Bangalow.
The project started small and getting bigger with more companies joining each time.
