This pile of rubbish is found opposite the very busy Suave betel nut market near the Goroka main market and bus stop.
The other side of the pile of rubbish is often used as a public toilet.
It is therefore uncommon, and not surprising, to see pigs foraging for food there.
Goroka’s main market has always been dirty and filthy, always full of human and animal waste.
Eastern Highlands politician and Henganofi MP Robert Atiyafa has strongly condemned the dilapidated state of the market. But apart from that, nothing much has changed.
