This is the main entrance at Magani police barracks at Mendi Town in Southern Highlands.
The barracks has been without perimeter fencing for the past 40 years, which has been a cause of safety concern for police officers and their families.
The Mendi Munihu District Development Authority, under the leadership of Mendi Munihu MP and Works Minister Michael Nali, has decided to fence the compound at a cost of more than K200,000.
Nali said having a perimeter fence ensured safety and security of the families of the police officers.
Nali has also promised to look at more ways he can help police.
