The Hilmar Wong family had invested a lot of money to build the public toilet at Vocopoint, in Lae, including the police station.
They also funded the Hilmar Wong Park, with solar lights, shelters and barbecue stands.
Not long after that the barbecue stands and solar lights disappeared.
At the weekend, someone broke one of the 12 shelters (pictured far left) and it fell to the groud.
The toilet and shower facilities have closed because the Lae city council has not maintained them.
Lae water police commander Chris Smith has asked the city council to fix the toilet but nothing has been done.
