For some months now this huge puddle has been producing a very bad smell within the heart of Lae’s main market.
There is another one next to it.
A mother who goes to the market everyday to sell produce says the smell is affecting her and everyone else, including customers.
She says it gets worse when it rains.
“We hope the authorities will do something to fix this problem as it is causing a health risk,” she says.
