NCD’s efforts to return the suburb of Boroko to its past glory is like trying to drag a dinghy through shallow waters – sometimes you get a bit of bouyancy and sometimes you hit coral and sand.
The streets and pavements are generally clean. Then there are places like this.
At East Boroko, a blocked pipe has been spilling sewage into a stormwater drain for about a week.
Sewage is also flowing into the Rita Flynn sports complex which is the base for the Apec Joint Special Task Force.
