Nine-Mile is one of the biggest settlements outside of Port Moresby but it does not have a proper market.
At the moment, mothers are selling bags of kaukau, bananas, greens, fish and other items along the Magi Highway and next to the bus stop at 9-Mile roundabout.
This is a risky move because it is next to the road and there is no proper shelter which means they are forced to sit under the sun or in the rain.
They need a proper market to help them sustain their livelihood.
