Madang town urgently needs a better drainage system to stop flooding, like in this photo of the Handy Mart junction.
The town flooded again yesterday, with the roads in town and residential areas affected.
Mayor Joe Yama said the town does not have a proper drainage system and whatever drains are there are often blocked and overflowing .
It is the same with the drain at the Handy Mart junction.
