Chimbu’s Gumine got cut off again due to damage along the highway.
Pictured is the deteriorating state of the road at Sul Maule and Gaima cutting off travellers to and from Gumine since Monday.
This section of the road, including Sindawa, Minegone and Mairinil, need immediate attention from the National, Provincial and District administrations.
Travellers and truck operators face the brunt of the government’s negligence each day.
The deteriorating road conditions has affected learning institutions such as the Gumine Secondary, Dirima Girl’s Secondary, Boromil Secondary including over 20 primary and elementary schools, Gumine Rural Hospital and the three health centres in the district. Gumine has a population of over 40,000 people who have been dealing with these bad roads for over 10 years.
