The Balob Teachers College to Malahang stretch of the Busu Road in Lae is going from bad to worse forcing vehicles, especially PMV buses, to spend more money on parts.
A good amount of money has been spent on upgrading the road but there was no proper work done.
PMV owners and crews servicing the back road area had recently given the worsening road condition as an excuse to increase fares from K1 to K2 but were stopped by the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC) who said the increase was illegal.
They are calling on a good contractor to fix the road once.
