IT is an unpleasant sight, seeing houses springing up like nobody’s business along Jawani Street, Lae City on the once Admin Hostel area.
The houses are on state land, but few so-called landowners are subdividing this area and selling it for self-gain and greed.
It is not only illegal, but having houses built so close to the road breaches the codes of road safety and land and physical planning, hence prone to road accidents.
Can the relevant authorities please intervene and deal with the situation before the said location becomes a haven for more illegal settlers.
