This huge pile of rubbish can be seen at the southwestern end of Goroka’s Suave Market just along the Highlands Highway.
Adjacent to the piles of rubbish is a food bar and lamb flaps and sausage market.
It is a health risk for the public who frequent the market daily.
Furthermore, the pile is also used as public toilet.
It’s about time the authorities look into it and start cleaning up the mess before people get sick.

  • The province needs a proper town administration. Also provincial and district leaders should educate locals to enter into other SME ventures apart from the common betel nut trade.
