Pictured is a tree that fell on a bench at a children’s playground at 5–Mile, Port Moresby.
After people continuously lit fires under it, the trunk became weak.
And during the recent rainy period, the tree gave in and fell.
This was the only protected tree in the playground but due to people’s careless behaviour, this beautiful gift from nature that took years to grow was destroyed.
