A WITNESS for a disputed local level government (LLG) election in Enga has reportedly gone missing from his family home.

Maso Tita, a witness in the Kompiam LLG election, that was disputed and is before the Wabag District Court, went missing at about 7pm last Friday from his Aiyokos village in Kompiam.

His son Tolai Maso and his wife Angowan Maso reported that Tita was still missing.

“I don’t know where my father is now because he was at the village that afternoon and he suddenly disappeared,” Tolai Maso said.

He claimed his father’s disappearance was a politically motivated incident.

“I know that this incident is politically related as my father told me that he was a witness in the disputed Kompiam LLG election,” Tolai said.

He said he was upset as he did not know of his father’s safety and well-being yesterday.

“I’m appealing to whoever may have seen my father or those who are involved to release my father.”

Spokesman and community leader, Lukas Martin said that this was a serious matter and urged his family not to take the matter into their hands.

Martin urged the family to report the incident to the police immediately.

“Let’s allow the police to investigate and not let our grievances overrule our emotions,” he said.
