POLICE arrested and charged a 38-year-old man from Kombe, West New Britain, on Monday with being in possession of pornographic materials.
Police said the man was arrested and charged with one count of being in possession of pornographic images and videos after his wife reported the matter to them.
Provincial police commander Lincoln Gerari said the man forced his wife to have unnatural sexual acts with him but she refused.
She then told police her husband was storing nude images and sex videos in his mobile phone.
Police arrested the man, who was later released on a K100 bail.
In another case, Gerari said a father of three had been questioned after he was identified by a school girl as the prime suspect who raped her last week.
But Gerari said police could not prosecute the suspect because the girl said the man who raped her  had been wearing a mask at the time.
Police said the suspect was released pending further investigation.
Gerari said 20 people had been detained and charged for being drunk and disorderly on New Year’s Eve.
He said it was a good sign and a decrease from the Christmas record in which a total of 38 people were arrested for the same offence.
