A 36-YEAR-OLD woman, charged with allegedly killing a man in Port Moresby’s Wildlife settlement a year ago, will return to court today for submission.
Waigani Committal Court Magistrate Paul Nii adjourned the case, saying “it is serious and will give time to hear submission from the defence lawyer”.
He told Wari Kundai is to remain in custody.
Kundai, from Wapenamanda’s Tsak Valley in Enga, was with her friend and four other men drinking on Dec 31, 2020.
Kundai allegedly saw the victim and his wife outside the fence of a house on Jan 1, 2021, when she went to use the toilet and the victim’s wife asked her for some beer.
It sparked an argument and the victim’s wife threw an empty bottle at Kundai that hit her forehead.
She fell when she was hit by a second bottle.
Kundai got up, took an empty bottle and allegedly hit him twice on his head. She also stabbed the victim on his neck and he bled profusely.
The victim was rushed to the Port Moresby General Hospital but died later due to blood loss.
