THE Enga Searching and Recovering Women’s Association is still waiting for Treasury and Border Development Authority Minister Don Polye to fulfil a K135,000 commitment he made to the association last year.
Association president Dian Ambil said Polye made the commitment at his office in Port Moresby on Oct 8 last year.
Ambil said the commitment was made after the association’s launching in Wapenamanda, Enga, last year. Polye and Wapenamanda MP Mickey Kaeok did not attend the ceremony.
Ambil said she then went to meet Polye and he promised to give K135,000 to the association.
She said Polye should fulfil his promise.
Ambil said they were many people trying to destroy the good name of the association.
She said it could be one reason why the commitment had not been met.
“This association was formed in Wapenamanda and I am the founder,” Ambil said.
She said the association has its constitution and did not have outside representatives.
