Woman in court over husband’s death

A 20-year-old woman charged with the wilful murder of her husband appeared for mention before magistrate Cosmas Bidar in the Waigani Committal Court yesterday.
Evelyn Kusin, of Lagemanda village, Kopiam, Enga, allegedly committed the offence at Morata No. 2, in Port Moresby, on June 27.
The court heard that she allegedly stabbed her husband Kelly Pundapen following an argument.
She will reappear in court on August 2.
Meanwhile in the National Court, Justice Panuel Mogish freed two men charged with wilful murder after the prosecution indicated it would not be calling witnesses.
According to the indictment presented in court by the prosecution, the duo had allegedly murdered a man on June 4 at Waigani, in the National Capital District.
