Woman leader wants school arson suspects arrested

A woman leader from Tinganalom ward in Raluana local level government, Kokopo, East New Britain, has called on police to arrest those involved in the burning down of Kabagab primary school.
Doris Talvat, the wife of a United Church minister, said most children were now at home since the burning down of the school last year.
Doris said as a mother and a women leader in the church and community, she was concerned because the children who attended the school were affected due to the actions of some selfish people.
“I feel sorry for our children, especially those in grade eight as they didn’t sit for their national examination last year,”she said.
Therefore, I am appealing to the police to arrest those involved.
“The ongoing fights between Tinganalom, Ngatur and Ravat wards have not only affected school children, but everyone else as well especially mothers.”
Doris said children could not go to school and mothers could not go to their gardens because they feared for their lives.
She said children from Nanuk, Tinganalom, Ranguna, Ngatur, Ravat, Turanian and Kunakunai, in the Raluana LLG attended the Kabagab primary school.
Meanwhile, police commander Chief Insp Januarius Vosivai said he would ensure the suspects were arrested and charged.
