AN eight-month pregnant woman who used text messages to threaten her former boyfriend has been put on a 12-month good behaviour bond by the Mt Hagen District Court.

Lisa Fred was found guilty yesterday of sending 22 text messages to Muri Kale and threatening to kill him and his wife if they were seen in town.

District Court Magistrate Jerrymaiah Singomat told Fred she had breached the National Communications Act by sending threatening messages using a mobile phone.

The court that on Feb 7, Fred sent a text message to Kale saying, “You smart, I will kill you, tell your wife not to come to Hagen”.

She sent another text message on June 21, saying “Yesterday, I waited for you, but you go home at 6pm and safe”.

Singomat said these were some of the many text messages Fred had sent.

He said a village court sitting in February had separated them and issued a preventive order.

Fred told the court she sent the messages because of the pressure she felt after he left her.

“He leaves me when I am pregnant and I later find out that he already has a wife,” she said.
