A WOMAN has been committed to stand trial in the Waigani National Court for allegedly stabbing another woman several times using a kitchen knife.
Committal Court magistrate Cosmas Bidar found sufficient evidence against Pricilla Benny, 23, from Baiyer in Western Highlands.
The incident took place on Sept 16 last year at Jack Pidik Park, Five-Mile, where Benny allegedly stabbed Jennifer Livai.
Benny allegedly attacked Livai from behind, stabbing her three times on her thigh, once on her hip and once on her left hand.
Livai suffered from heavy bleeding.
A taxi driver who happened to be her uncle rushed her to Port Moresby General Hospital where she received treatment.
Two days later, Livai was discharged from the hospital and filed a complaint at Boroko Police Station.
Benny was apprehended and questioned.
She stated that she just stabbed Livai out of frustration.
She was charged under unlawful wounding.
