Nominations for this year’s Westpac Outstanding Women (WOW) Awards is open until Aug 30.

Westpac is encouraging Papua New Guinean women to submit a nomination for their chance to gain recognition, develop their careers and win a host of prizes.

The awards, previously known as the Westpac Women in Business Awards and now in their seventh year, recognise and reward women who have made outstanding achievements contributing to the development of Papua New Guinea.

Managing director Ashleigh Matheson said: “Making an outstanding contribution might be supporting one’s local community, doing well in the private or public sector, being an entrepreneur or being a young high achiever. It’s about doing something, whether big or small, that helps develop our great country.”

There are five Award categories, comprising the Steamships Public Sector Award, the PricewaterhouseCoopers Private Sector Award, the SP Brewery Entrepreneur Award, the Trukai CommunityAward and the IBBM Young Achiever’s Award. Winners from these categories automatically qualify as nominees for the coveted overall title of Westpac Outstanding Woman of the Year.
