THE PNG Women Bowls Association is calling a special general meeting at the PNG Sports Foundation conference room at Sir John Guise Indoor complex next Saturday.
Association president Geua Vada Tau said all presidents and their delegates should attend to resolve their differences for the benefit of women bowlers and the election of office bearers.
The meeting will be conducted in accordance with the new constitution adopted at the special meeting organised by the PNG Sports Federation and Olympic Committee (PNGSFOC) last Oct 10.
Tau is also appealing to the Mt Hagen, Lae, Bulolo, Goroka, Madang and the Port Moresby Defence bowling clubs to pay their affiliation fees.
The PNGSFOC had also denied endorsing John Paliau of the PNG Sports Foundation to facilitate the meeting on their behalf for the Defence club women bowlers in Port Moresby last month.
In a letter dated June 17, PNGSFOC secretary-general Auvita Rapilla said Paliau did not inform her that he was requested to facilitate the meeting. His presence was endorsed by the PNG Sports Foundation executive director Iamo Launa.
Rapilla also noted that the PNG Sports Foundation had no official involvement with the matter pertaining to their membership with the PNGSFOC, and Paliau had no right to facilitate that meeting.
She had also made it clear to Paliau that the PNGSFOC only suspended the PNGWBA’s membership with the PNGSFOC and not the executives who were given 60 days from the date of the PNGSFOC’s executive board meeting on May 25 to bring their administration in order.
