THE Women’s Health Care Awareness clinic in Port Moresby now have a computer of their own, thanks to the Department of National Planning and Monitoring staff.
The staff’s donation last week was in appreciation for the clinic’s role in helping females fight cancer in the city. The Department’s acting first assistant secretary policy, budget and statistics Rosemary Isicar said most of the department’s female staff had been to the clinic to undergo Pap smear tests and they noticed that the clinic did not have a computer.
The department had been gifted one and it decided to donate it to the clinic.
Clinic director Sister Helen Hukula, thanked the department, saying it was the first time they received such a blessing. She said the clinic was run by three retired nurses and had served more than 650 patients since commencing operations last year.
The clinic provides Pap smear tests for K50, with K20 consultation fee.
Breast checks, weight, and blood pressure checks are free.
She said women willing to make appointments can contact her on 340 6037 or 7347 6146 or email [email protected].
