LESS fortunate women are capable of being successful in business, Monica Nita, a businesswoman and professional accountant said.

Nita is the founder and president of the West Engan Women’s Association in the Moresby Northwest electorate of the National Capital District.

She left a high profile job with the Bank of South Pacific recently and formed the association to help less fortunate women from Enga living in the city with finance and training to enter the business world.

Nita and the members thanked local MP Michael Malabag for giving K20,000 to the association last Sunday.

She said she was determined to help women who lacked the capacities in education and finance.

She has been encouraging association members since they started last month to “become someone”.

“I know where and how to get the money. Most MPs do not tell women where the money is. They think women are not good managers,” she said.

“I’ve got a vision to help neglected women and that they progress.”
