Women empowered

 GENDER equality was encouraged in Port Moresby Rugby Football League with chairman Samson Unage handing over K20,000 to the Port Moresby Women’s League executives on Tuesday. 

The funding was from a K50,000 allocated by Moresby Northeast MP Labi Amaiu earlier this year. 

PRL got K30,000. 

Women’s League president Ellis Siki, secretary Anna Pasungu, treasurer Diana Nagan and operations manager Tora Ivora thanked Amaiu for his kind gesture to encourage gender equality  through the funds from his district support improvement programme

Siki also commended Unage for releasing the funds to them in good time. 

She said this was a big plus as the funds would be used to run the operations of the women’s competition.
