TWENTY-two women from  the Community Mine Continuity Agreement (CMCA) Women’s Association made up of 18 villages in the Middle Fly electorate in Western ended a two-week tour of Lae, Morobe, last week.

The group led by president Charlot Matthews had their first trip away from their hamlets to see opportunities on offer to sell art and crafts.

Matthews said: “We have the money and the resources but to find the market to sell our goods has been a drawback as most of us have no clue where we can find an open market for our items.

“But this educational field trip to Lae has given us ideas how to promote our art and crafts.”

During their stay in Lae, the women had the opportunity to showcase their handiwork at the 2013 Morobe Agriculture Show.
