TWO women are among seven students who graduated with certificates and diplomas from the Maria Molnar Bible Training College in Manus last Sunday.
The women are Irene Muli and Lena Rabbie, who graduated with diplomas.
Muli was awarded the dux of the school after scoring 16 As out of the 17 courses taught there.
The graduation was held at the Loniu village Evangelical Church of Manus (ECOM).
It was witnessed by senior pastors of the church, family members, friends and visiting missionary Rev (rtd) Norman Dietsch and his wife Hilda from New Jersey, USA.
The seven who graduated were Irene Muli (diploma in theology), Lena Rabbie (diploma in theology), Ulein Lawalik (diploma in theology), Celestine Yakor (advanced certificate in theology), Jeffery Paul (advanced certificate in theology) Benjamin Chalapan (certificate in theology) and Ronnie Sotil (basic certificate in theology).
Dietsch, who delivered the sermon at the graduation, told the graduates they were like sheep sent into places where there were wolves.
“You are the light of the world and the salt of the earth,” he said.
“The world has been corrupted by sin but wherever you go, you must make a difference,” he said.
School principal Snr Pastor Francis Kolpal said this was the 22nd graduation and the second to be held outside of the campus.
He said many students had graduated from the college and were doing missionary work in the province and around the country.
Former Manus governor Dr Jacob Jumagot was a guest speaker at the event.
The church, which owns and operates the college, will celebrate its 100 years of service in the country in 2014.
